Emma Stone
Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was
born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone (nee
Yeager), the homemaker, and Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone, a
contractor company founder and CEO. She is of Swedish, German and British Isles
descent. Stone began acting in her youth as a Valley Youth Theatre member in
Phoenix, Arizona. She first appeared on stage in Kenneth Grahame's "The
Wind in the Willows." Through her teens Stone was part of numerous shows
before she took the decision to pursue a career in acting. As per the official
story she was the one who presented a PowerPoint slide show that was made
possible by Madonna's Hollywood and was dubbed "Project Hollywood" in
an attempt to convince her parents and allow her to quit school and relocate to
Los Angeles. After the presentation was accepted by the parents, she and her
mother relocated to LA. She continued to study at home, while auditioning. Her
TV debut was when she was chosen to play Laurie Partridge on the VH1
reality/talent show In Search of the Partridge Family (2004). This resulted in
a number of small TV roles over the years. Her movie debut was as Jules in
Superbad (2007) and following a string of impressive performances, her lead
part in the film Olive in Easy A (2010) established her as a rising star. The
school she attended was Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona.
Although she is known as a redhead, her true color is blonde. Judd Apatow
suggested that she change her hair color to suit Superbad (2007). The actress
loved it so much, she chose to keep the color. When she was 15, she convinced
her parents to allow her to move to Hollywood by presenting an PowerPoint
presentation that was appropriately titled Project Hollywood. Her first
experience in acting at the age of 11 years old. age in the Valley Youth
Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, where she played in over 16 stage productions as well
as performing the theatre's comedy improv troupe. Caylee Cowan also acted at
the Valley Youth Theatre.
