Meg Ryan

Meg Ryan is a blonde-haired blue-eyed lady with an exuberant personality. Meg Ryan was born Margaret Mary Emily Hyra to Susan (Duggan), the daughter of an English teacher and a former actress. Harry Hyra was a math teacher. Ruthenian and Polish, Irish, German and German descent. "Hyra" Her maternal grandmother's maiden, is Ruthenian. Meg graduated in June 1979 from Bethel high school, Bethel. In the fall of 1979, she relocated to New York, she attended New York University where she majored in journalism. Meg Ryan is her name change, started acting to earn a little extra while she was finishing her education. 1981 was her biggest screen debut. She portrayed Candice Bergen's little girl in the film of George Cukor Rich and Famous (1981). She auditioned , and was cast as Betsy on the daytime TV soap The World Turns the World turns (1956). She was in the cast from 1982 to 1984. Meg also had a part in the TV show One of the Boys (1982), however, this show was later ended. In 1984, Meg relocated to Hollywood and was offered a job with the western television series Wildside (1985). Meg had a small role in Top Gun (1986), which resulted in her being cast in Steven Spielberg's Innerspace (1987) in which she played alongside Dennis Quaid. In D.O.A.'s remake, she co-starred with Dennis Quaid. (1988) and got married in Saint Valentine's Day 1991. Meg made an appearance in the 1989 film When Harry Met Sally... (1989), and the scene in the restaurant became famous. Meg was twice nominated for the Golden Globe and BAFTA. In 1990, she co-starred with Tom Hanks in Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) and this time she played three roles as DeDe/Angelica/Patricia. She appeared again together with Tom in the hugely successful Sleepless in Seattle (1993) in which she was nominated for the Golden Globe. Meg decided to be different from her peers in 1994, by playing the role of Meg as a mother and wife who is alcoholic in the film When a Man Loves a Woman (1994). Following that, she went back to "cute" with both I.Q. (1994) as well as French Kiss (1995). In 1994, Meg won the Harvard Hasty Pudding Award for being "Woman of the Year" and was named as being one of "The 50 most beautiful women in the world 1994" by People Magazine.
